SCIENCE UNDERGRADUATE SOCIETY

September 2016-Present

Elected to be First Year Representative
First Year Committee: helped to organize A Nightmare on East Mall, SUSchella, and ShowCASE, the first year dance
Academic committee member: implementation and adjudication of the Undergraduate Teaching Excellence Award and the SUS Community Leadership Award, reported on curriculum committee changes, and promoted course feedback surveys
Counsellor: Represented first years on voting matters, regarding budget and science clubs

BURNABY YOUTH SUSTAINABILITY NETWORK

June 2013-2016

President of the student driven organization that connects different environmental clubs and initiatives throughout the district

• Received $8000 in grants and created 5 gardens at Burnaby high schools
• Established a food scraps composting program at all high schools and conducted waste audits
• Planning and facilitating monthly meetings
• Overseeing executive team including hiring, training, communicating and delegating
• Hosting a 6 hour retreat targeting team bonding, restructuring, and learning about Zero Waste
